Coleman’s core has been playing varsity football together for four years now.
That’s a lot of games, a lot of experience and a lot of a lot.
Entering the 2021 season the eight senior members on the Coleman football roster have played a ton of football together dating back to their freshman campaign. While the Comets might not have won a ton of games during this time frame the hope is to change that this fall.
“We have a good group of seniors who have been on varsity since their freshman or sophomore years,”
said 12th-year coach Chad Klopf of the Comets, who went 1-6 last season. “They want to win some football games.”
On paper the Comets return a lot of talent at the skilled positions, led by running back Conner Schrank. He ran for 737 yards one year ago and caught 11 passes for 141 yards. Konner Carbeno also returns to the backfield after rushing for 200 yards a season ago.
Senior quarterback Ty Klopf threw for 511 yards in 2020 while wide outs Jaden Bovee caught 12 passes for 163 yards. Ayden Ruhle, Ty Murray and Jack Wiggins will also help on the outside, giving the Comets plenty of offensive firepower.
As of right now coach Klopf’s biggest concern is shoring up his line as he graduated some outstanding talent from a year ago.
